Entering the Archibawbaws

I’ve never entered a portrait prize, let alone for a destination like Mt Baw Baw. My subject is a man called Greg Hollis, who researches and monitors the critically endangered Baw Baw Frog.

The portrait is a linocut. This is how it looked during the cutting stage. I won’t post my finished print here as the prize is yet to be judged, and the team at Mt Baw Baw is relying on the element of surprise for this inaugural event.

This Sunday I’ll be travelling up the mountain with some of the other artists to attend the exhibition and presentation. This will be my first art exhibition where the viewers are required to carry snow chains.
